Plastered across the side of Manzanita Hall, written on several copies of a past opinion page was the word, “lies” in red spray paint. While somewhat unorthodox, this made a direct and profound statement."

"Two Minnesota newspapers will receive a share of state grants normally given to retrain workers in manufacturing and other industries in transition. The Duluth News Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press will work with the University of Minnesota's School of Journalism and Mass Communication to help staff adapt to an increasingly Internet-based industry."

"Bauer Consumer Media, IPC Media, Condé Nast, BBC Magazines and NatMags are to publish monthly breakdowns of their circulation figures. In a forthcoming report by the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the breakdowns will be revealed for the period between July and December 2008. The report, which will be available on 12 March, is likely to be well received by media buyers, who have long called for greater transparency around ABC figures."
